The New Orleans Hornets' all-time leading rebounders include three All-Star power forwards: Anthony Mason, Larry Johnson, and current Hornet David West. Now in his eighth season,


West is one of the Hornets' longest-tenured players and he is closing in on the franchise records for both scoring and rebounding.

5. Anthony Mason: 2,354 rebounds

Former All-Star and Sixth Man of the Year Anthony Mason sits fourth on the list of New Orleans Hornets' all-time leading rebounders. Mason spent three of his strongest NBA seasons with the then Charlotte Hornets from 1996 to 2000. In 236 games with the franchise, he averaged 13.4 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. Mason averaged 8.3 rebounds over his 13-year career for a total of 7,279, good for 76th in NBA history.

4. Jamaal Magloire: 2,532 rebounds

One-time All-Star center Jamaal Magloire spent five years in Charlotte and New Orleans to become one of the Hornets' all-time leading rebounders. Magloire enjoyed all of his NBA success in his early career with the Hornets. He was their starting center for three seasons including a double-double year of 13.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per game in 2003-04. Since leaving the Hornets in 2005, he has bounced around the NBA with five other teams; he currently serves as a third string center for the Heat.

3. Larry Johnson: 3,479 rebounds

The NBA's Rookie of the Year in 1992, power forward Larry Johnson ranks third among the New Orleans Hornets' all-time leading rebounders. The Hornets chose Johnson with the first pick of the 1991 NBA Draft and he responded with consecutive double-double seasons to start his career. LJ grabbed a career-high 11.0 rebounds per game as a rookie and 9.2 per game over five seasons with the Hornets. The two-time All-Star forward became the first Hornet to average more than 20 points and ten rebounds per game in a single season in 1992-93.

2. David West: 3,542 rebounds*

Current Hornets' power forward David West is up to second on the list of New Orleans Hornets' all-time leading rebounders. After being drafted by


New Orleans in 2003, West steadily improved his overall game and developed into a two-time All-Star. He has career averages of 16.2 points and 7.2 rebounds over 492 games with his rebounding average topping eight per game three times. With a pair of 20 points per game seasons, West is also the second leading scorer in Hornets' history with 7,973 points and counting.

1. P.J. Brown: 4,203 rebounds

The New Orleans Hornets' all-time leading rebounder is former top defensive big man P.J. Brown. Brown spent he first half of the 2000s with the Hornets and he posted his five best rebounding seasons with the team. He averaged more than nine rebounds per game four times including a career-high 9.8 per game in 2001-02. The three-time All-Defensive power forward grabbed 8,409 total rebounds in his 15-year career, good for 52nd in NBA history.
